Facebook, in a nutshell.
So, we all see it on facebook. The status’s calling someone a bitch, or annoying, or venting. Sometimes I do it myself but later on a notice 2 things.
1.) There are some people on my friends list I don’t know. They now enter into my personal life and know something about me that they either don’t care about or now creep on me. Thus, I regret posting a status about my emotions instead of dealing with them in a rational ay.
2.) Nothing on the internet goes away, ever. We’ve all heard that since we were young enough to type, but it’s true. I can delete the post and roll it off my shoulders after it’s gonw, but I have no control over where it goes after that and who saw it before I deleteed it.
It is true that facebook is not a journal, but niether is tumblr, or any social networking site for that matter. I mean, there are some cases where we are overwhelmed with a situation so we post a status or on someone’s wall hoping it will either get a shit load of likes to know we are not alone, but also in hopes that it can sometimes be avoided. It’s just a way to get bottled emotions out there. I advise though not to do it, because you never know when that shit will bite you in the ass. My advice, get a real life venting session, not a cyber one.
